INTERVIEW: Jonathan Hivernat, French Wheelchair Rugby Player

In our ongoing effort to provide you a personalised experience of the Paris Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games we present to you the portrait of a French Paralympian, Jonathan Hivernat, who we had the incredible opportunity to interview and to learn more about his impressive Paralympic sport.

Jonathan came to Australia to participate in the Santos Wheelchair Rugby National Championship. Across three days, Adelaide hosted the best of Australian and International wheelchair rugby in a Championship held from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 May 2024 at the Netball SA Stadium.

Some of the regional teams invited overseas reinforcements to join the tournament for the weekend. One of the special guests, here to boost the West Coast Enforcers – a Western Australian team – was Jonathan Hivernat, Wheelchair Rugby p layer and captain of the two-time European Champions French Team. His performance during the weekend even earned him the title of Best High Point Player of Division 1 of the tournament!
