(A) Little Ones - 3 to 5 year olds

LITTLE ONES (Pre-school Reception)

Term Course
This class is designed for children between 3 and 5 years old. They will be introduced to the French language through games, songs, stories and craft activities. They will discover vocabulary and simple sentences in topics such as animals, colours, numbers, feelings amongst other things.

New students wanting to join this course MUST contact reception prior to enrolment.

Year Level: Preschool to Reception

Pace: 1.5 hour / week over 10 weeks
(A) Little Ones - 4 to 6 year olds

LITTLE ONES (Pre-school Reception)

Term Course
Reinforce your French through games, song and craft activities. Have fun learning new vocabulary and sentences through your favourite topics !

New students wanting to join this course MUST contact reception prior to enrolment.

Year Level: Preschool to Reception


Pace: 1.5 hour / week over 10 weeks
(B) Kids 1

KIDS 1 (Year 1-4) SAM10

Term Course
This level is for children enrolled in grade 1 to 4 in primary school who are beginners in French. They will discover the French language and learn vocabulary and structures required to greet and introduce themselves in French, count up to 20, spell basic words, name, objects, animals, hobbies and express what they like and dislike amongst other things.

If your child has learnt French previously, please complete a placement test and send it to adelaide@af.org.au.

New students wanting to join this course MUST contact reception prior to enrolment.


Pace: 2 hours / week over 10 weeks
(B) Kids 2

KIDS 2 (Year 1-4) MER16

Term Course
This level is for children who have completed Kids 1 or who have done an assessment of their French level. In this course, they will learn the vocabulary and language structures to describe themselves physically and express their feelings. They will also discover vocabulary and structures to talk about food and beverage, clothing, weather and means of transportation.
Pace: 2 hours / week over 10 weeks
(B) Kids 4

KIDS 4 (Year 1-4) MER16

Term Course
This level is for children who have completed Kids 3 or who have done an assessment of their French level.  In this course, they will learn the vocabulary and structures required to talk about their hobbies, describe events or situation that occurred in the past, express an opinion, ask questions and describe someone amongst other things.
Year Level: 2 to 5

Book: Passe-Passe 2

Pace: 2 hours / week over 10 weeks

KIDS 4 (Year 1-4) SAM10

Term Course
This level is for children who have completed Kids 3 or who have done an assessment of their French level.  In this course, they will learn the vocabulary and structures required to talk about their hobbies, describe events or situation that occurred in the past, express an opinion, ask questions and describe someone amongst other things.
Year Level: 2 to 5

(C) Pre-Teens 1

PRE-TEENS 1 (Year 5-8) SAM10

Term Course
This level is for students enrolled in grade 5 to 8 at school who are beginners in French. They will discover the French language and learn vocabulary and structures required to greet and introduce themselves in French, count up to 100, talk about family, hobbies, school, what they like and dislike amongst other things. Year Level: 5 to 8 (Not suitable for complete Beginners) Books & Levels  will be determined after the first week.
Pace: 2 hours / week over 10 weeks
(C) Pre-Teens 4

PRE-TEENS 4 (Year 5-8) SAM10

Term Course
This level is for students who have completed Pre-Teens 3 or who have done an assessment of their French level. In this course they will learn vocabulary and structures required to talk about objects, describe places, imagine the future and talk about well being and respect amongst other things.

Year Level: 5 to 8

Book: J'aime 3

Pace: 2 hours / week over 10 weeks
(D) Teens 3

TEENS 3

Term Course
This level is for students who have completed Teens 2 or who have done an assessment of their French level. In this course they will learn vocabulary and structures required to talk about objects, describe places, imagine the future and talk about wellbeing and respect amongst other things.
Year Level: 8 to 10

Book: #La Classe 3

Pace: 2 hours / week over 10 weeks

Come and have fun while learning about Easter. Through many different fun activities you will learn Easter’s vocabulary and all about this holiday.

Year 11&12 SACE/IB

Term Course

Officially accredited by the SACE Board of SA, the Alliance offers courses to prepare Year 12 students for the SACE Continuers French exam, while focusing on three strands: Communication, Understanding Language and Understanding Culture. New students wanting to join a course after week 1 MUST contact reception prior to enrolment.

Year Level: 11/12/SACE/IB


Pace: 2 hours / week over 10 weeks
